Plot:
Mikado Ryūgamine is a young man who longs for the exciting life of the big city. At the invitation of his childhood friend Masaomi, he transfers to a school in Ikebukuro. Masaomi warns him about people he doesn't want to cross in the city: a violent man dressed like a bartender, an information merchant, and a mysterious gang called "Dollars". The story, which prominently features megane-Nagato and long-haired Haruhi, was previously supposed to have been included in the “new material” which took the place of a proper Haruhi second season, but Kadokawa and Kyoto Animation evidently felt including all eight episodes of Endless Eight took precedence...
The Theatrical release of the film is scheduled for February 6th but I highly doubt that will be the release date knowing Kodokawa =__=;;

Edwin based the show around several Hawaiian ghost tales that he learned as child. As he has done in the past, he has used the likeness of childhood friends in his new paintings which have his signature ethereal, dream-like feel. “Softly Encompassing the Womb” is now open to the public at LeBasse Projects in Culver City.

A 10m tall rubber duck has been sighted on the waterways of Osaka.

The prosaically named Suito Osaka Rubber Duck Project, designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, has seen a 9.5m tall by 11m long rubber duck statue floated on the city’s waterways, for no particular reason. The duck has previously menaced other cities, but this is its first appearance in Japan.

The Invader “Low Fidelity” Exhibition [SICK]

London’s Lazarides Gallery Exhibition featuring the artwork of internationally renown French artist Invader.

Showcased within the Rathbone gallery, Low Fidelity will feature all new works from the series “Rubikcubism”. Using the famous 80’s puzzle game’s cubes as pixels, the artist has recreated album covers by rock bands such as the Velvet Underground, The Cure, Roxy Music, David Bowie and Michael Jackson. In addition to these classic images as well as a selection of sculptures and original works on paper, Invader has taken the pixelated image one-step further crafting his very own ‘barcodes’. These abstract works are only discernable with the aid of a mobile phone digital camera, the image from which is then “decoded” into a text message. -Lazarides

Microsoft recently announced that it will be releasing an anime based on the Halo franchise, employing some of the top names in the anime industry.

The five companies involved in the actual production are Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4°C, and Toei Animation. The director will be Shinji Aramaki, of Appleseed fame.

The anime will be released on DVD and online (doubtless through Xbox Live) in early 2010.

[New Anime] "Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen" (Final Chapters)

This year’s 34th issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine will announce next Wednesday that an Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen (Inuyasha Final Chapter) television adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s manga has been green-lit. The anime will broadcast on Japan’s YTV this fall and cover the story in volumes 36 to 56 of the manga — the final 21 compiled book volumes. The original staff and cast will reunite for the new anime adaptation.

Shonen Sunday had promised earlier this month that it will be including a special news announcement about Inuyasha in issue #34. Takahashi had ended the Inuyasha manga in the same magazine last June. She has been serializing a new manga called RIN-NE (Ky?kai no Rinne) in the magazine as well as on TheRumicWorld.com website for North America readers since April 22. Viz Media has been releasing the Inuyasha manga in North America, and it has also released the original 2000-2004 television anime adaptation.
